Planning & Brainstorming

It all starts with an idea. Our job is to consider how to transform that idea into a message that will inspire or compel the viewer.

There are many ways to approach a project. Why are you making a film? Who is your intended audience? Who will tell your story and how? Does it call for an off-camera narrator or an on-camera host? How much time is needed to tell the story without turning off the audience. Every question that can be answered upfront saves you time and money down the road.

Pre-Production

A project's ultimate success or failure is determined in pre-production. We make sure that all of the elements are in place - locations, crews, insurance, release agreements, contracts, production equipment, talent, support staff and an approved budget. In addition, we plan ahead for later stages - How will you distribute the finished piece - via the web, broadcast or cable television, DVD or a point-of-sale kiosk? What do you want the film to achieve? What is your time frame for completion? These questions need to be answered upfront to keep us on budget and on schedule.

Production

Whether your goal is to create a high-end corporate marketing video or a broadcast program that delivers your message to millions of viewers, we have the team and resources to make it happen.

A video or film shoot is a team effort. There is an instinctive workflow that happens between a group of production professionals. The director trusts the crew to deliver the goods. The cameraman knows what kinds of shots the editor will need. The lighting assistant knows where the cameraman wants to position the lights. The soundman knows where to position the microphones for the best audio and to keep them out of the shot.

Our crews are creative, experienced and passionate. They know their craft and they know your production. They are multi-talented. They will go the extra mile without complaint and with good humor. Our cameramen know both the art and science of imaging. We will work with you to determine the best format for your project... XDCAM-HD, HDCAM, DVCAM, Digital Betacam, HDV, DVCPRO50 or film. Do you want to shoot in widescreen 16x9 or the traditional 4x3 aspect ratio? Standard definition or high definition? Our crew has over 25 years of experience in shooting video with extremely high production values for our broadcast, corporate and government clients. Because of this, we are experts in lighting and staging virtually any situation. Most of our business comes from repeat customers who have come to appreciate the level of skill, professionalism and humor that we bring to their productions.

Postproduction

Editing can make or break a project. It is where all the creative decisions come together to tell your story. Timing, pacing, music selection and storytelling skills, combined with an innate sense of how the viewer will respond to the piece are what makes our editors successful. A good film is greater than the sum of its parts. Knowing what to throw away is as important as knowing what to keep. Patience is an indispensable virtue. A good editor must not be afraid to build a sequence, tear it apart, and start over again… often more than once.

Our editors have an unparalleled creative toolbox at their disposal. We also plan ahead, saving your material, ready for future revisions or re-purposing your project in years to come.
