Every few years, we tackle a project that feeds our soul. Due to the time and cost involved, these projects are done for love rather than money. These programs were produced for the film festival circuit and for limited commercial distribution. Now, we are proud to offer some of these films for purchase on DVD.
Hearts On The Line (Tom Russell Concert/Documentary)
Tom Russell has been called America’s greatest living songwriter… and a worthy heir to Johnny Cash. In the spring of 2004, Russell rounded up a group of world-class musicians for a rolling folk festival that stretched across the vast landscapes of Canada. Starting with a rousing concert in Vancouver where Russell’s musical career began, the performers and fans boarded the last great vintage streamline train still operating in North America and shared a one-of-a-kind Roots Music experience. Rolling into Toronto at the end of the journey, all aboard had shared an experience that they would never forget Our cameras captured both the concert in Vancouver and life aboard the train. Hearts on the Line is a musical documentary that captures the spirit of this breathtaking journey, while taking viewers inside the life and music of Tom Russell.
