Every few years, we tackle a project that feeds our soul. Due to the time and cost involved, these projects are done for love rather than money. Tom Russell has been called America’s greatest living songwriter… and a worthy heir to Johnny Cash. In the spring of 2004, Russell rounded up a group of world-class musicians for a rolling folk festival that stretched across the vast landscapes of Canada. This documentary, first released in 1993, has been completely re-edited and updated for its 2006 debut on DVD. After winning awards at several major film festivals, this biography of environmentalist and author Edward Abbey has been born anew. Brand new high definition footage of the American Southwest, new comments by Edward Abbey, and newly discovered archival footage of the West have been combined with a stunning new musical score by award-winning composer Michael Josephs.
